Zumba is the dance sensation that is trying to get all of the UK moving and classes can now be seen at most gyms and fitness centers in Leeds. 50% of all new health club visitors will stop going regularly within the first 90 days so picking an activity that engages your interest will ensure you continue going. Zumba started in the USA in 2001 and finally hit the UK shores in 2007 where its presence has grown in every town and city up and down the country. Leeds finally jumped on the Zumba bandwagon and got those hips moving in 2009 and hasn’t looked back since.

Many class participants enjoy the activity so much that they themselves train to become Zumba instructors. The classes are taught by energetic Zumba trainers who don’t ever let you feel self-conscious about your lack of co-ordination and ability to dance but are there to get the room moving with high energy after teaching the basic steps. It’s then down to the participant to move as much as they want and engage with the rest of the class to get the full Zumba experience.
Zumba fitness is a great cardiovascular workout as it gets the heart beat pumping fast and the body stretching and twisting in ways you didn’t think it could. With its high-energy Latin inspired beats, participants are getting fit and before long their energy levels are soaring. There’s no other class exercise that can shape you up as much as Zumba toning, which aims to sculpt the body by using light-weight toning sticks to enhance rhythm and tone all the target zones like arms, abs, glutes and thighs.
At DW Fitness, with no less than 12 Zumba classes in Leeds ran weekly, you’re sure to find a class to suit you and your ability.
